Combo Classes

For ages 3 – 5.
Our combo classes integrate creative ballet and tap techniques and incorporate the Brain Dance into each lesson.

Ballet Classes

For ages 6 and up.
We offer more traditional Ballet classes in addition to the Ballet + Conditioning classes which combine Yoga, Pilates, and Ballet to teach the dancer proper technique and alignment to avoid injury.

Hip Hop Classes

For ages 5–7 we offer Dance Jam (a combination of Jazz and Hip Hop techniques.)
For ages 7 and up (Hip Hop)
Our fun and energetic classes focus on appropriate music, moves, and costumes.
We are also proud to offer our popular All Boys Hip Hop class.

Jazz Classes

For ages 7 and up
We offer traditional jazz classes in addition to the Turns and Jumps technique classes which are geared to the more serious dancer.

Tap Classes

For ages 7 and up.
Our traditional tap classes teach the fundamentals of rhythm and counting in a nurturing environment.

Acrobatic Arts Classes

Otherwise known as Acro Dance, we teach the Acrobatic Arts curriculum from a certified instructor.

Contemporary Classes

Contemporary Dance Classes

For ages 12 and up
Contemporary dance focuses on expressing the meaning behind the dance using the face and also the expressiveness of the choreography.

Musical Theater Classes

For ages 7 and up
Our Musical Theater classes incorporate the Jazz technique in a character-oriented setting.

You can major or minor in dance beyond high school. Attaining a MA or MFA in dance allows you to teach at a community college level. We have programs tailored specifically for those wanting to become professional dancers.

Pre-Company Classes

Are you thinking of joining a company?

Pre-company is a great way to dip your toe in and see if a company is a good fit for you.

Age ranges: We recommend starting pre-company between 8 and 9 years old but it’s never too late if you are willing to work hard for it.
Experience needed? Should have danced consistently (about 2 classes/week) for about 2 years.
Class requirements: Dancers 10 and older should highly consider adding Acro Dance to their pre-company requirements.How many hours a week?

Company Classes

For the Committed Dancer

Company classes require a long-term commitment and hard work. Company classes are for those that have a passion for dance and are willing to commit time and effort to take their dance to the next level.

Age ranges: 9–18
Experience needed? Should be used to dancing 4+ hours per week.

Pre-Company FAQs

Why did you start Pre-Company?

We started pre-company because we have so many dancers interested in Company but they are not taking the appropriate classes to help them reach their goal, or they are not meeting the standards or work level of a Company dancer.

What benefits are there of being Pre-Company?

All teachers will be made aware of your goals to join the Performing Company and you will be challenged at the level the Company Dancers are within your own classes but in a way that is still appropriate for your age and ability level.

Does being in Pre-Company guarantee I will be in Company next year?

Not necessarily —many factors that go into determining Company placement. There may not be a group at your age or ability level next year or it may take several years of being in “Pre-Company” to meet your goal.

What’s the difference between Pre-Company and Mini and Junior Stars?

As a dancer, each December and June you will receive a detailed report of how you are doing in your classes as well as what you need to work on to meet your goal of becoming a Company dancer.

What if I am not recommended to take the required classes yet?

What if I fail to meet one of the above requirements for Junior Stars or Pre-Company during the year?

Unless you have an emergency situation you will be removed from “Pre-Company” status and will not receive the benefits listed above.

How do I join Pre-Company?

Simply fill out the section for Pre-Company on your Mini and Junior Stars form and email it back to the studio at info@livelovedance.net
